skirt project worn 2 ways

I made this skirt from a Vogue Pattern:1292.
I made it over the course of a few days because just as I was starting my jacket project my iron broke. Well you can't steam interfacing without an iron. So I pulled out this fabric and made this skirt. I had to  shorten length of the skirt before I added  the band of the origami pleats, I lined it with slip like knit material to give it enough body. What was most frustrating was that none of the fabric stores in my area had ANY striped knit fabric. This is how it is featured on the pattern cover...

Anyways look one on the left turned out to be too light weight for the sudden cold front we had today in the 50's. So I went inside and added the sweater and jeans jacket. I refuse to put winter shoes back on so the sandals stayed.  This style skirt is way outside of my usual comfort zone. Do you like it??

  1. I do love it. Very sassy casual, if I may say so. I hope you find a striped knit you like soon because it does look all kinds of awesome in the stripe on the pattern envelope. Looks wonderful in the print you picked too but the stripe really makes the most of the folded detail at the bottom. I'm sure it looks fantastic in motion.

  2. Thanks I am working on a jacket next so stay tuned. Hopefully I can pull that one off too. Sometimes I spend so much time with the prep that I never get to it because I talk myself out of my original plan.
