GOING ON A HIATUS

For my loyal followers I will be taking a break from blogging to help my mother heal from her recent hip fracture and shoulder break. I will also be having complete knee replacement surgery. So I will not be posting until we both sufficiently heal. See you in July or August.

Grapeful at the Wine Festival

I wore this white gauzy skirt with a denim shirt over a turquoise  camisole. I added some necklaces and in honor of the grapes a purple hat. This is a reinterpretation of a Chico's look I posted before. I didn't wear a hip  belt because I didn't think the shirt was long enough and I was already wearing two necklaces.I was cool yet covered so I didn't get sunburned. I would like to find this shirt without the breast pockets, I think that would look better on me.

Day two: Sat at the wine festival.

Here we are on the day of the show. My husband is a wood turner and I am a milliner. So we share a booth. That way if my products don't sell well his will.
Here are some of my hats for sale. The wine festival was fairly well attended even though it started to rain around three o'clock. We made our expenses so we were happy but the most important thing is we met a lot of nice people.

AT THE WINE FESTIVAL:SETTING UP THE BOOTH

Here we are setting up our booth at the wine festival the day before the actual festival. It is easier to do it the day before. That way I don't have to spend the day sweaty and miserable from unloading all the stuff we bring.

Very casual//sweating with the best

If I have a top with narrow straps I usually wear long pants in a very loose cotton. I will still stay comfortable without letting too much hang out. If I have more leg showing then I will wear thicker straps. I just think this is better for my frame and age. I added the belt just to lengthen my short waist. The belt is drooping here because I put my hands on my hips...(oh well) I thought that I should show my back as I have a typical old lady butt. You can see I have no defined waist. The hats are a must cause the sun bothers my eyes.

Summer Bottoms:shorts, skirts, pedal pushers

T-shirt pedal pushers light weight scarf

Chico's 2011
I like to look somewhat covered up in the summer. This works for me if I utilize light weight breathable clothing. I usually have plenty of cotton on in the heat. I love the look of a gauzy skirt with a loosely belted or tied on shirt. I like the look of shorts to the knees with a tank top with a very light weight loosely woven sweater. The loose layers are actually cooler than one more fitted top.
Have you worked out how to feel cool and still look chic in the summer?
